Everton M. Spencer, Sr., MBA, LNHA, Administrator

Everton is the administrator of Highlands Lake Center.  He has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry with over 20 years in the long-term care setting. Everton was born in Jamaica and relocated to the beautiful state of Florida in 1976.  He has been a long-time resident in the state of Florida where he attended middle and high school.  Everton received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Andrews University in Michigan and earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Everton’s calling in life is to serve others, and what better way to fulfill that mission than taking care of our precious resource, our seniors.

Estella Brualdi, R.N., Director of Nursing

Estella is the Director of Nursing for Highlands Lake Center. She started her senior care career as a licensed practical nurse in 1971 and worked as a change nurse.  She was then promoted to be the director of nursing in a not-for-profit Eastern Star Facility. In 1984, she received her RN license and served as a registered nurse at Metro General Hospital on the oncology unit for one year.  Her career took her to Southwest General Hospital in 1986 and served for two years on a medical floor to gain experience about several disease processes. Estella has worked at multiple locations including being promoted to director of nursing of a local hospital.  She settled at Akron General Hospital in 2002 where she worked on a step down unit providing cardiac care and rehab amongst other responsibilities.  She returned to Lakeland, FL in September 2005, and was employed on the oncology unit at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and also spent time at Highland Lakes Center as a flex nurse.  Estella came full time to Highland Lakes Center, holding various positions until her current role in 2010.

Richard Sweeney, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Richard Sweeney received his MD from State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse in May of 1988 and attained his fellowship at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH. He is a Diplomat of The National Board of Medical Examiners, Diplomat of American Board of Family Practice and holds a Medical Review Officer Certification.  Dr. Sweeney has practiced Family Medicine at Watson Clinic since 1991 and has  been the Medical Director of Opis Highlands Lake Center since 2006.

Camille Cacioppo, BA, Senior Admissions Liaison 

Camille has been a part of the Opis family since 2012. She has been an integral member of the Admissions team and is proud to have been awarded the Excellence in Census Achievement for 2013 and 2014.  She strives to build relationships within the community to better serve the needs of seniors.   Camille is a graduate of Florida Southern College with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing.
